Aggiorno brevemente per non dare l’impressione di aver abbandonato del tutto il blog, come in effetti è ultimamente. Sono su un treno per Chongqing, città famosa soprattutto per il cibo piccante e per la metro che attraversa i condomini (questa!). Sto andando a passare qui i 3 giorni di vacanza per il Quiming jie 清明节 (giorno di commemorazione dei defunti). Mi hanno detto essere una metropoli parecchio stravagante e quindi so già che la amerò.
Ho scoperto esserci Ikea anche in Cina. Ho passato la giornata di ieri ad avvitare un milione di viti. Ci ho messo 3 ore e ad un certo punto mi sembrava di star montando una casa e invece era solo una scrivania. Tra una lezione e l’altra sono stata in giro per parchi. Qui:

Il Tang Paradise è un gigantesco parco a tema che promette di ricreare l’atmosfera della Cina durante la dinastia Tang con stand e spettacoli che vanno in scena per lo più nel tardo pomeriggio. Io ovviamente sono andata troppo presto e quindi ciaone. Brava Viola, brava. Comunque, a parte il caldo asfissiante l’ho trovato bellissimo.

Il meteo di questi giorni mi confonde. Ci sono stati 30 gradi per una settimana di fila e quindi corri a comprare vestiti estivi che sono rimasti a casa a Roma. Oggi ovviamente piove ed è di nuovo inverno. Di fronte alla mia evidente confusione, le mie colleghe mi hanno spiegato che a Xi’an si alternano tutte e quattro le stagioni anche nell’arco di un mese.

Concludo dicendo viva l’alta velocità cinese, viva i tantissimi giorni di vacanza di questo paese, speriamo di riuscire ad assaggiare il piccantissimo hotpot del Sichuan senza morire.

Update

Quick update to pretend I didn’t abandon the blog, as I’ve actually been doing lately. I’m on a train head to Chongqing, famous most of all for the spicy food and for its subway passing through residential buildings (this one). I’m going to spend here my three days of holydays for Quiming jie Festival 清明节. I’ve been told it’s a pretty extravagant city so I know I will love it.
I found out that China has Ikea too and it’s very popular. Yesterday I’ve spent the whole day tightening a hundred screws. I felt like I was building a house instead of a desk. In between my classes, I’ve been wandering around Xi’an’s parks. Here:

Tang Paradise is the biggest theme park in Xi’an recreating the atmosphere of the city under Tang’s dynasty with stalls and spectacles, mostly in late afternoon. Of course I arrived too early for that. Good job. Anyway, despite for the extremely hot weather I found it beautiful.

 

Lately the weather has been confunsing. We had 30 degrees for 7 days in a row and I rushed to buy summer clothes as I have everything back in Rome. Today it’s raining and it’s winter again. My colleagues told me that Xi’an can have all 4 seasons in just one month.

Hope it’s going to be a good weekend and I will survive the extremely spicy food.
